Why did you pursue a career in the instructional design and technology field?
I hoped to work with faculty in higher Ed to improve classroom engagement. My goals shifted as I had great classes and amazing opportunities during my IPT program. I am now more interested in non-profit curriculum development.

What are some of your day-to-day responsibilities in your roles?
I design curriculum and educational products and anything related to LDS missionary learning. I have also designed training for edtech managers in Ghana.

How have you found your jobs? What advice do you have for someone trying to find a job in the instructional design and technology?
Both jobs came through the email list or seminar in the IPT program.

In what ways did your graduate program prepare you for your career?
My work is directly related to what I learned in IPT: sound principles of learning design, open educational resources, assessment, evaluation, and creative collaboration.

Why did you pursue a career in the instructional design and technology field?
I enjoy the research, evaluation, innovation, creativity, design, and experience design. I want to find ways these subjects can intersect to empower people.

What are some of your day-to-day responsibilities in your roles?
Consulting with clients to understand their research needs, designing and reviewing research plans, developing instruments (surveys, interview and focus group protocols), conducting interviews and focus groups, analyzing data, creating reports, presenting to clients.

How have you found your jobs? What advice do you have for someone trying to find a job in the instructional design and technology field?
I received an email from the department informing me of a job. I would advise people to follow the Spirit in their job search and allow the Lord to present them with the right opportunities for them.

In what ways did your graduate program prepare you for your career?
I learned valuable design and research skills, as well as the ability to navigate between details and the big picture of how everything is related. I learned to consider the experiences of individuals, which informs a lot of what I do when creating research plans and instruments.
